Lincoln Day Fund Raiser Dinner - 06.26.2010

[Edit: There are some identity corrections which needed to be made. Sorry about the errors. If any more, please contact me. Thanks!]

At our Annual Lincoln Day Dinner, catered by Old Hickory,
the hall is abuzz with conversation.

The table is set and waiting for guests.

Arkansas Republican Party Chairman
Doyle Webb (right) speaks with Regina and Jon Hubbard.
Jon is a candidate for State Rep District 75:
http://www.jonhubbard4arkansas.com/about.html;
and the author of a self-published book:
Letters to the Editor: Confessions of a
Frustrated Conservative.

Registration - door prizes to follow.
Pins, bumper stickers also available.

Mike Brown, fellow in dark blue shirt, did a marvelous job
of tending to the door, selling buttons and bumper stickers.

Jack Moore (husband of Anne Moore, First Congressional
District First Vice Chair) and [correction] Tim Fox, candidate for
Arkansas Supreme Court, position 6.

Pictured here, (left to right) Doyle Webb, Ms. Shumate, and
Jonah Shumate (Rick Crawford's Campaign Manager), engaged
in conversation. Just beyond Jonah, the person speaking
to Sam Hilburn is Chase Dugger, State Republican Executive
Director.  The lady speaking to Jonah, is Dora Kay Lee. The
next to last person appears to be Russ Dupwe - who teaches
together with Chad Moseley at Westside. The fellow at the
far end is Jim Cline (my husband) who later led us in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
[If you are able to name anyone here on this page that I have failed to identify,
or if I have misnamed, I would greatly appreciate it if you were to write to
me or call with the correct information.]

Shown here, Lovell Lee [whose wife is the lady in purple in the above photo],
our own Larry Corbett speaking with Sam Hilburn.
Larry and Sam went to school together at Walnut Ridge.

In the center back by the window, is our 1st Congressional District
Chairman Benny Speaks. Front and center at the table is Doyle and
Pat McKinney. Speaking with Pat is Mary Cox Stone. Again,
others are unknown to me or I have forgotten their names.

The stage is empty and waiting while we enjoy a
swell catered dinner.

Old times or new conversations yet being discussed by
Lee and Hilburn.

Our own Lawrence County Republican Committee
Chairman, Chad Moseley who is our MC for the evening.

Chad is a candidate who wishes to Represent the 73rd District
in the State House. That seat is being vacated by J.R. Rogers.
Chad's opponent in this race is James Ratliff, of Imboden.

If you don't know Chad, I invite you to get to know him and
his lovely wife Kim. Chad is a great fellow and is worthy of your trust.
Visit his website: http://www.chadmoseley.com/

James (Jim) Cline, retired Navy, lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Loretta Corbett read the 4 stanza of the Star Spangled Banner then
lead us in the singing of the 1st stanza.

For those of you who are not acquainted with the 4 stanzas of
our National Anthem, I suggest you go to:
http://www.purewatergazette.net/asimov.htm
You might like to note the words:
"And this be our motto--"In God is our trust."

Lloyd Clark read an article on prayer and led us in the blessing.

Several dignitaries from our GOP party were in attendance as
were others in the audience who are candidates for various
offices about the State. Many candidates who were unable to attend
yet sent their representatives to the event. Those who wished to say
a few words about the status of our party or how the events in
November may unfold to effect our Nation and particularly our
State, or anyone who wished to speak for a candidate or for
themselves were invited by Chad to say a few words.

Our own Loretta Corbett entertained us with a few selections
from oldies but goodies by Patsy Cline.

Loretta had a grand time! The audience not only enjoyed the songs
but also enjoyed the banter between Loretta, Larry and Chad.

We especially wish to thank our key-note speaker of the evening,
Dave Elswick, who is from KARN Radio in Little Rock. He is one
of the top conservative talk-radio host in the country and is in great
demand for speaking engagements. His thoughts reflect much of
what we conservatives here in District 73 believe and dread.
Dave painted a not-too-optimistic outlook for the future of our
Nation unless we are willing to step up and vote the liberals out.

Arkansas is required by law to balance our budget. Yet, with Obama
and our liberal Congress overspending, Arkansas is asked to repay
(according to Americans for Prosperity) over $30o million to the
Federal Government for what they consider a "loan"for enhanced
unemployment payments to recipients. The State cannot balance
the budget with that amount being owed to the Government.

Questions and answers . . .

See a brief history for Dave on the website in a post previous to this post.

Part of the attending crowd.

Winding up the evening . . .

Loretta getting ready to pick ticket numbers for Door
Prizes. Silent Auction winners were announced afterwards.

Loretta did a swell job by getting private parties and
merchants to donate for the Silent Auction and Door Prizes.

I don't know who donated the door prize I won, yet,
I received a really nice wind chime.

Our fearless leader and his wife, Chad and Kim Moseley, are seated
on the far side of the table to your left.

Thanks be to the ones who worked so hard to put this event together.
Especially the ladies, who had charge of getting everything coordinated,
food, decoration (with the mens help) and then the clean-up afterwards.
Y'all did a grand job!

I must say, if you were unable to attend the event, you missed out on
good food, good conversation and a grand time getting to know who
may eventually become members running your local Committee, or
Representatives in our State House or on "The Hill" in Washington D.C.

Before you vote in November, know who you are voting for!!

Again, apologies for not having this posted in a timely fashion.

Followed by more apologies for quality of the following photos.
I learned a hard lesson: I should not have adventure
